Since 1981, the Terry Fox Foundation has continued to expand its community with fundraisers and support seen nationally and globally.

Fred Fox, a representative of the Terry Fox Foundation, spoke with CIVL about the impact his brother Terry has had on the entire world.

"We hear quite often from people that have discovered Terry's story... I have had a tremendous opportunity to travel around the world and be in Terry Fox runs," Fred says.

Canadian athlete and humanitarian Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18 and was inspired to raise money for cancer research by running across Canada. He passed away in 1981 during the cross-country fundraiser.

"Terry believed as a student and an athlete he wasn't the best.. with a little bit of hard work and determination, he could accomplish most things he attempted," Fred says.
