Fraser Valley’s youth are benefiting from the positive impact made by a local business association: The Indo-Canadian Business Association.
Dave Sidhu, the president of the Indo-Canadian Business Association, told CIVL that the association's board of directors are all under the age of 30 and that the association is proud to mentor younger people to be productive citizens in the Fraser Valley.
In most years, Sidhu says the association has three events yearly: A Vaisakhi luncheon, one is a gala (which helps non-profit agencies in the Fraser Valley raise money), and an award ceremony. At the annual award ceremony, the business association provides 10 students with scholarships to help students with post-secondary education. The business association has developed a partnership with the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce to help its members network more broadly with the business community of the Fraser Valley.
