Organizations in the Fraser Valley have mobilized to help the Abbotsford Food Bank this winter, including the Indo-Canadian Business Association.

Dave Sidhu, president of the Indo-Canadian Business Association, said that the partnership with the Abbotsford Food Bank was developed out of a need that arose due to the pandemic. The relationship between the business association and the food bank helps feed dozens of people in the Fraser Valley through a grant and community donations, he added.

The business association has provided the food bank with a grant which will help the food bank with much-needed financial support. Sidhu added that the association also mobilized the local South Asian community to donate to the food bank. As a result, other major businesses in the South Asian community have started pitching in to help the food bank. Sidhu says helping nonprofit groups in the Fraser Valley was one of the reasons the Indo-Canadian Business Association was formed.
