The citizens of Mansfield-et-Pontefrac and surrounding area were surprised, Tuesday, July 7, by a military exercise which took place near the old Davidson sawmill. Neither the media nor the residents seemed to have not been notified by the Canadian Armed Forces to this effect.

The municipality confirmed having received several calls and complaints from residents voicing their concerns regarding the noise late in the evening and overnight Tuesday. According to a communication that issued to the Canadian Armed Forces, the municipality stated that citizens did not appreciate not being informed about the training exercise.

As expressed by residents, the noise was not concentrated at the Davidson mill, but instead for miles around the outskirts of the municipality. The Mansfield municipal council has asked the military that this kind of incident never happen again.
