The affordable housing crisis can be solved with a realistic amount of government investment, says one of the leading BC voices in affordable housing.

Jill Atkey, CEO of the BC Non-Profit Housing Association, pointed out that $1.8 billion annual investment in affordable housing her organisation calls for is similar to the amount of provincial and federal investment made in the past two years.

Late last year, Vancouver East MP Jenny Kwan found that BC was only allotted 0.5% of the total amount of funding from the federal National Housing Strategy program.
