A section of Highway 7 between Wellington Road 32 and Shantz Station Road was closed for several hours Wednesday after a serious collision west of Guelph.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Highway 7 at Woolwich-Guelph Townline at approximately 9 a.m. yesterday for a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a courier truck and a tractor trailer.

One driver was transported by Ornge air ambulance to a trauma centre in Hamilton with serious injuries. The second driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Constable Kirk MacDonald with the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says it is still too early to speculate what caused the collision.

OPP is asking anyone that may have witnessed this collision or has dash cam video equipped in their vehicles to please call them.
