Why did Canada remove sanctions on a Russian pipeline? Ed Fast, member of parliament for Abbotsford, shared his stance on Canada's removal of sanctions for a Russian pipeline. In July, Canada announced that it would "grant a time-limited and revocable permit" to Siemens Canada that allows for the return of a turbine to Germany". The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that they were "deeply disappointed" by the move. Mr. Fast said," The conservative party opposition is very clear that the Treadu government made a big big error in approving the export of this turbine that's now going to Germany and facilitate Russia's ability to sell gas to Europe". In addition to this move being criticized by conservatives and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Vladimir Zelensky, President of Ukraine, has also condemned the move by Canada.
Was lifting sanctions on Russia a good idea?
