How the Canadian government can have inflation under control. Ed Fast, member of parliament for Abbotsford, shared with CIVL what the Canadian government can do to control inflation. Fast says," some of the factors that are driving inflation in Canada and around the world are of course out of the control of the government, the federal government that is. However, there is one thing, in particular, that is definitely in control of the Trudeau government and that is spending". According to the bank of Canada, Two main sets of forces are driving the current high inflation—one is domestic, and the other is international. He adds," over the last six years, the Trudeau government has doubled Canada's national debt, and most of that money went into either supporting Canadians during covid or pumping money into our economy through stimulus". During the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, the government of Canada announced that they will be giving up to $27 billion in direct support to Canadian workers and businesses.
