University of Victoria’s Theatre and Psychology departments are reaching out to find participants for a focus group that will take place on Nov.18 and 25, aimed at studying the newcomer experience.

In conjunction with the Inter-Cultural Association, Professors Dr. Kandil and Dr. Costigan are looking for immigrants and refugees interested in participating in small focus group sessions.

The outcome of the sessions will help inform a community theatre project that will be presented by UVic students in 2021.

Each session will be two hours and probe experiences in Victoria surrounding challenges of settling into a new community. An honorarium will be paid to participants.
