The Town of Brome Lake is set to receive $735,000 in grant money from the provincial government for road maintenance.

This grant money, in addition to the amount outlined in the 2021 town budget, will be put towards the re-paving and fixing of Rue St. Paul and Sugar Hill.

“It’s a project that will show up in the budget for 2021. It’s estimated at $1.1 million for the paving,” stated Town of Brome Lake Coun. Lee Patterson.

Sugar Hill and Rue St. Paul were chosen for this project via an analysis of the road quality completed by the town. Both Sugar Hill and Rue St. Paul are high traffic areas, as they connect to, and from, the centre of Knowlton.

“We are at that stage for St. Paul’s and Sugar Hill, so we were eligible for grants from the provincial government,” clarified Patterson.
