Is the parity pendulum starting to swing?

Dr. Fiona MacDonald, department head and associate professor of Political Science at the University of the Fraser Valley, spoke with CIVL regarding her observations about the increased participation and leadership of women in politics. Specifically, she explores the role of women in Donald Trump's election loss in America and the New Democratic Party breakthrough in the Fraser Valley during the last provincial election.

According to MacDonald, a greater number of women in politics will lead to a consensus approach in politics, which will inevitably result in an innovative and different way to address issues like homelessness and drug policy.
