What the Minister of Mental health and addictions says to British Columbians. Sheila Malcolmson, minister of Mental Health and addictions shared with CIVL her message to the people of British Columbia. Minister Malcolmson said," It' been so hard for people... the impacts of the pandemic, the impacts of the drug crisis. More than anything, if you are struggling with mental health and substance use challenges, we want you to know that is a health care problem. It's not something to be ashamed of. She also said to listeners," We want you to know that there is help available. In the Fraser Valley in particular, we have been able to bring in new free counseling services including Archway community services, and the Kinghaven Treatment Centre, which support men and women with substance abuse". For anyone experiencing substance abuse or a mental health crisis, you can also contact 811 to find the right free service for you.
