Six Nations community members attended The Gathering Place (2593 Chiefswood Rd, Ohsweken, ON) last night for an evening of exciting announcements, dinner refreshments and meet & greet with the Florida Panthers defenceman Brandon Montour.
Chief Mark Hill was present and spoke about the importance of having those inspirational community members and thanked Montour for his continuous work and dedication to being a positive role model for the community.
An announcement was made by Chief Hill that a total of $10,000 was donated to Six Nations Minor Sports being split into 5 divisions being lacrosse, hockey, baseball, field lacrosse & the Six Nations Skating Club all receiving $2,000 a piece.
The money was raised by selling community lawn posters sponsored by Jukasa Designs and sold at the community watch parties when Montour was in the Stanley Cup playoffs back in June of 2023.
Montour gave a speech thanking the community for their continuous support and talked about the importance of giving back with the hopes of his next return being with the Stanley Cup.
