"After four years of serving as the 58th elected Chief of Six Nations of the Grand River, I wanted to extend a heartfelt nia:wento everyone for their support, now that a new chapter is about to begin for Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council next week.
It has been a privilege to serve our community as Chief. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the community that I love with all my heart. Despite having to make many difficult decisions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to do some great things and move our community forward in a progressive and positive direction. Most [importantly], we were able to make sure that the health and welfare of our community, as well as what we believe in was at the forefront.
I also want to express my gratitude for the 13 years I served on Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council. It has been an honor to work with so many dedicated community members and to help make positive changes for our people. It has been a pleasure working alongside all of you. I want to thank the community for their support and trust during my time. It has been an incredible experience, and I will always cherish the memories and relationships I have formed during my tenure.
While I am stepping away from Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council as Chief, I will continue to be an advocate for my community and work towards a better future for all Six Nations Members."
