Beyond the Blue Box thrift store will start accepting donations again this coming Monday as it prepares to open new satellite locations in downtown Cobourg.

A September fire destroyed all the contents of the Blue Box's main building on Covert Street.

On Nov. 12, the Blue Box - a registered charity that also provides work, social and training opportunities for developmentally disabled individuals - will open a Christmas store, at 66 King St. E., which is the former Meet at 66 coffee shop. The other location, as previously reported, is nearby at 41 King St. E.

Donations will be accepted at the Covert Street location. No donations will be accepted at the satellite locations as space is limited.

"The thing that people have to remember is that even with the two locations, it's going to be less space than what we had in the main building," said Marielle Lambert, vice-chair of the board.

Lambert said the store needs things like clothing, household items in good condition, books, CD's and records.
