What an association in the Fraser Valley is doing to help schools. Chris Lenshyn, a Community Restorative Practice Coordinator at Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association spoke to CIVL on their restorative justice program in schools. Lenshyn says that almost every middle school in Abbotsford does something called the restorative action program. He says that the restorative action program is a program in which they have staff members go to different schools and do restorative justice, conflict coaching, and bullying prevention. Lenshyn says that if the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association or the school sees a student who is going through conflict issues, they link them up to a mentoring program which he says has been around for a while.
