What a local drug counselor thinks needs to be changed to have a better functioning society. Dave Price, a drug counselor and community volunteer spoke to CIVL on what changes the government can take to help deal with inequalities in society. Price says that Drug addiction Crime, Racism, and Poverty are all symptoms of systemic problems in our society. He says we often try to cure the symptom but not the cause of those problems which is a mistake. Price says he would like to see a guaranteed annual income like they have in Scandinavia, as that move has reduced poverty and reduced the urge to take mood altering substances such as drugs.
