Registration for the 57th annual Pacific Northwest Music Festival (PNMF) is now open following two years of a reduced program.
Started in 1966, the PNMF is a volunteer run non-profit organization that focuses on providing a friendly competition and learning opportunity for participants.
A variety of disciplines are encouraged and showcased during the 17 day festival, including different genres of music, dancing, singing, and speech arts.
For each performance, three adjudicators are present to give their input and advice afterward. Classes are also offered by adjudicators who specialize in one discipline.
In 2022, due to COVID-19 protocols, the festival saw a scaled down version with just 400 entries compared to the 1,400 entries that were in place before the 2020 event was cancelled.
Though in 2021, the festival moved online for Spotlighting the Arts'. From April 15 to May 1, over 160 videos were available on the festival's website to watch different music, dance, and vocal performances.
April 13-29, 2023 will see the first fully fledged PNMF since 2020. Registrations are now open for all ages until Jan. 15 on their website at pnmf.ca
