As kids return to school and parents make adjustments, the September 8, kicks off the 154th annual Six Nations Fall Fair. It will be taking place at the Gaylord Powless Arena all weekend, from September 8th - 10th.
The Six Nations Fall Fair is Ontario's largest Indigenous fair and was first held in 1869. It is organized by volunteers and the Six Nations Agriculture Society (SNAS).
This years fall fair will begin this Friday at 10:00 am for kids day until 10:00 pm. Friday evening will end with an AC/DC tribute band at the main stage.
One of the major change this year is that $35 bracelets allowing kids unlimited access to rides will be valid for the whole weekend, rather than just one day. The Agricultural Society changed this policy to make the event more affordable for families.
The trade show at the fair are also larger. Some other new events happening at the 154th Annual Six Nations fall fair are a euchre tournament, wrestling is back this year and there is a sports honouring ceremony still being finalized with more details to come.
Main stage performances will include kid's karaoke on Friday, and then an ACDC Tribute band to end the evening on Friday. The main the stage entertainment will continue on Saturday & Sunday (September 9th - 10th, 2023) with performances by local musicians. There will also be a Johnny Cash tribute band to end the 154th annual fall fair on Sunday evening.
Safety measures are being taken into consideration and entrances and parking are as follows -- vehicles coming in must use Lawrence Jonathan Laneway entrance to Gaylord Powless Arena. Any foot traffic comes in the main entrance, Elders parking available and shuttles also available from parking to fair grounds.
