A new exhibition in Kitimat is highlighting the beauty of the North Coast through two different lenses, literally.

The Double Vision exhibit features photos from Kitimat locals Kathy Ouwehand and Murray Minchin. Ouwehand and Minchin say that they started snapping shots for the exhibit about two years ago after Ouwehand was approached by a representative of the Kitimat Museum and Archives at an arts and crafts fair.

Although they worked together and often shot in the same places, Minchin says that their photos came out very different. Ouwehand explained that while she focuses on the wildlife they encounter, Minchin usually goes for an environmental shot.

Minchin explained that their photography for the exhibit is meant to showcase how differently Ouwehand and himself view things. They hope that through seeing the personality of the wildlife captured in the photos, that people consider the environment and wildlife with their day to day choices, Minchin said.

The exhibit is currently running at the Kitimat Museum and Archives from Oct. 14 to Nov. 18.
