There's a lot on the docket at Nelson City Hall: COVID-19’s downward curve, a new police chief, a new pier plan and a new ferry project, Cottonwood’s conserved forest and the upcoming City of Nelson by-election.

Mayor John Dooley called in to chat a bit about all of it with Kootenay Coop Radio on March 12.

In particular, Dooley highlighted the campaign to save 49 Hectares around Cottonwood Lake, how vaccine distribution is unfolding in the Kootenays and the appointment of a new Chief Constable of the City of Nelson.

The mayor also spoke to the upcoming by-election slated to replace Nelson-Creston MLA Brittny Anderson's vacant seat in council chambers.

The city council by-election — between Brenton Raby, Josh Wapp and Nicole Charlewood — will take place Saturday, March 27.
