A former resident of Cortes Island is wanted by RCMP for uttering threats against a person and against property.
Last week, Quadra Island RCMP released a statement regarding Mariano (AKA Mario) DeRose, who relocated to Quadra Island over two years ago. Const. Rebekah Draht confirmed with CKTZ on June 6 that the RCMP has not yet found De Rose.
The official RCMP media release states the following:
"Quadra RCMP are looking to locate Mariano Mario De Rose. De Rose is wanted on one count of uttering threats against a person and one count of uttering threats against property. De Rose is believed to be staying on Quadra Island but is actively evading police. De Rose is described as:
- 185 cm (6'1)
- 104 kg (229lbs)
- Heavy set
- Grey beard
- Brown eyes
If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of De Rose, please contact the Quadra RCMP at (250) 285-3631 or your local detachment.
