A Russell resident has secured a deal on Dragon's Den for ice resurfacing machine technology.

Ron Albert of Russell appeared on Dragon's Den in May of this year, but the show didn't air until recently, so he is only now able to reveal that he got a deal with Dragon Wes Hall.

Albert's company, GREINS Environmental Technologies, got $500,000 plus a $3 million line of credit, and did it without existing sales, a rarity on the venture capital television show.

Working with engineers, he spent over 10 years developing new technology which can be inserted into existing ice resurfacing machines such as Zambonis and Olympias. The device takes the swept up ice chips, melts them, filters and sterilizes the water, and returns new clear water to the ice surface, saving time, money and water use for arenas and rinks, and providing better quality ice.
