Members of the Knowlton Lions Club recently handed out Tim Hortons gift certificates to some of the front line workers in Knowlton.

The Knowlton Lions Club is a community group comprised of volunteers. The Lions, as the members are called, perform charity work around their respective regions. The work of the Lions Club is appreciated in Knowlton, so much so there is a park in town named after the organization: Lions Park.

“As we approach the first anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Knowlton Lions Club wished to thank our front line workers who have given so much of themselves over the past year,” said Margo Pfeiff, Knowlton Lions Club member.

Thus far in the Lions campaign, gift cards have been delivered to the Knowlton Medical Clinic and Brome Lake Community Centre, Uniprix Pharmacy and Familiprix Pharmacy.

The small act of kindness grew larger when the local Tim Hortons heard of the Lions Club plan: Tim Hortons matched every gift card with a coupon for a free coffee and snack.

“As a small token of gratitude, we gave them a gift certificate for a quick “pick-me-up” snack,” mentioned Pfeiff.
