What the MLA of Abbotsford South believes should be done to prevent extreme flooding. Bruce Banman, MLA of Abbotsford South, shared with CIVL what he believes the City of Abbotsford should do to prevent flooding. Mr. Batman says, “One of the farmers said something to me that I found very interesting. He said, we have to assume that the waters are going to come across again and we need to find a way of moving those waters faster to minimize the damage.” In November as the flooding occurred, crops were left destroyed. Mr. Banman continued by saying," If you take a look at how Washington state warned their citizens versus what BC did, there is a dramatic difference... I take no pleasure in the fact that I was the lone MLA that was talking about the Nooksack [River] as they [the BC government] were talking about other rivers.
