Former Liberal MP Sidhu still championing Kinder-Morgan pipeline

Former Liberal Member of Parliament Jatinder Sidhu still thinks oil pipelines will save the Canadian economy.

CIVL spoke with Sidhu, former MP for Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon, about the the economic impact of the Kinder Morgan pipeline on the Canadian economy.  As a supported of the Kinder-Morgan pipeline, Sidhu said that once the pipeline is built, Canada will be able to market its oil to other parts of the world, not only to the United States. He added that the U.S. takes advantage of Canada by paying half of what they are supposed to for our crude oil. According to Mr. Sidhu, the $15 billion dollars of new revenue that the pipeline will be bringing into Canada can be used by our government to improve our infrastructure.

Sidhu acknowledges that there are critics who oppose the building of the Kinder Morgan pipeline. He says the government has ensured the public that no project will ever be approved in Canada if the science indicates that it will harm the environment.
