Today on our show, host James Mainguy asks producer Sandy Goldman and journalist Jen St Denis to comment on the election's first results. They review the election at both the federal level and in the Vancouver East riding, where incumbent NDP candidate Jenny Kwan was re-elected with an estimated 55.8 per cent of votes.

Jen St. Denis is The Tyee’s Downtown Eastside reporter. A Vancouver-based journalist who has covered housing, economics, business, and politics, her work has appeared in Star Vancouver, the Toronto Star, the Vancouver Sun, Business in Vancouver, and Vancouver Courier.

Sandy Goldman is a producer for The Pulse and a long-time producer/host of Each For All - The Co-operative Connection, a weekly public affairs show about the co-operative sector and social economy, broadcasting each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. on Vancouver Co-op Radio.

James Mainguy is a journalist and host of The Pulse. He is also a long-time host and producer for Redeye, the longest public affairs show in Western Canada, appearing on Co-op Radio since 1977. It airs from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday on Co-op Radio.
