With only 14 new cases of COVID-19 in the Interior of British Columbia, the percentages of vaccinated people in northern BC are looking positive. Anyone over the age of 12 are eligible to be vaccinated, and Northern Health is reporting over 10,000 vaccinations have been delivered.

Now, the convenience of pop-up clinics have made vaccinations readily available for most everyone.

CICK News reporter Chris Gareau spoke with Chief Medical Officer of Northern Health Dr. Jong Kim about mitigating barriers keeping northern BCers from getting their first and second doses.

To maximize this efficient vaccination schedule, Dr. Kim said "we are looking to reach and support those whose mobility or location has kept them from becoming vaccinated by creating readily available clinics where there weren't before".

"This [creating pop-ip clinics] is important for communities that have been mostly vaccinated to make sure second doses are given within the right timeline".

To learn more about the stages and steps being rolled out for mobilized immunization clinics in northern BC communities, listen to Chris' interview with Dr. Jong Kim below.
