Snow Way Out, downtown Edmonton's first snow maze, opened over the winter holidays.

Andrea Carroll, director of Event Operations at OEG Sports and Entertainment, says there's a bunch of fun to be had within the snowy walls that wind around the ICE District.

The Oilers themed 75'x75' snow maze features a few snowy slides, and lots of opportunities for photos with snow sculptures. On the outside, there's an ice rink for people to skate or play shinny on, and firepits for everyone to warm up at and sip some hot chocolate.

Snow Way Out has been running since the week after Christmas. So far, the event has been a big hit for Edmontonians: Carroll says the consistent weather has keep people coming out - she's "extremely happy" with how things are turning out and where things are headed with Snow Way Out.

With the event lasting until Jan. 29, Carroll says the main goal is to get everyone to be a part of the downtown revitalization, and to come out and just have some fun in the winter sun.
