Prince Edward County Council approved last Wednesday the development and activation of its Emergency Management Program.
This version includes the appointment of key individuals to manage Incident Management System functions during emergencies. The County’s Emergency Response Plan was updated to address references and incorporation of it by the local private sector. The Plan also expands roles and responsibilities inside the emergency command and control structure.
Bloomfield/Hallowell Councillor Phil Prinzen, was appointed by Council to the provisional position Head of Council. He will be responsible of declaring an emergency when the head of Council is absent or refuses to act, or if the office is vacant.
