Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons was a disappointed at Monday night’s council meeting when it came to talking about the bridge on the Lewin Parkway.

Parsons says a bridge bearing is being fabricated and it was due to be here by now, but that’s not happening and the bearing won’t be here until January, due to manufacturing delays.

Parsons says he’s getting a lot of calls about this and it is an arterial route in the city. He says the hope was to have it repaired by Christmas and January-March is a different climate. More meetings are needed with officials of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, the mayor says.
