LoveFest is an annual, family friendly music festival at Linnaea Farm that is returning after a two-year hiatus. Every year, the organizers of LoveFest look for creative ways to innovate and incentivize alternate methods of transportation to the centrally located event. Since the festival takes place on a farm, on the edge of Hague Lake, there is effectively no parking for motor-vehicles.
This year, Rex Weyler, a founding organizer of LoveFest, managed to network his way to connecting with the Community Action Bus. The blue-painted former school bus is a non-profit entity based in Victoria. Weyler noticed Eric Nordal driving the bus around Cortes several weeks ago, which lead to a LoveFest 2022 innovation: the bus will be offering transit to and from the festival for attendees.
Weyler adds that there will be people to assist those with limited mobility.
“Of course, we'll help people into the bus and help 'em out and take care of them.”
The organizer noted that the bus will be the most optimal option for those hoping to walk the least.
