Newly elected Abbotsford South MLA Bruce Banman promises to build bridges between communities in the Fraser Valley.

Banman spoke with CIVL about what he learned as a city councillor and the importance of diversity in Abbotsford. This summer, the city saw many people marching in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and Banman says what he learned from that is to listen to other people’s points of view. He says sometimes people need to walk in other people's shoes to understand what they are going through in life. As an elected official, Banman says he sees his job in playing a part to build a more equal society.
