Marketing Director of the Nelson Civic Theatre, May Tin, called it, "a match made in cinema heaven."
Reo's Movie Emporium, a longtime Nelson cultural institution and an anomaly in the age of Netflix, Crave and the like, will reopen its doors will some help from the non-profit Civic. Reo's closed almost exactly a year ago today at the onset of the Global Pandemic.
Owner Cole Johnstone told Kootenay Coop Radio he knew that the station would reopen at some point, but was unsure when, until he received some help from the Civic.
Johnstone has owned Reo's for six of its some 30 years.
The new location will reopen on March 17 on Hall St. in Nelson.
