‘Hero who saved hundreds of lives’ say friends of slain overdose-prevention worker

We're talking to Jen St. Denis, the downtown east side reporter with The Tyee, about Monday's memorial for Thomus Donaghy, a 41-year-old overdose prevention site worker who was stabbed to death while on a break from work a week ago.

Police are investigating the murder, and they and Donaghy's friends are calling on any witnesses to come forward with any information. Donaghy is remembered as a "hero" who saved hundreds "if not thousands" of lives, since he helped co-found the original Vancouver Overdose Prevention Site in the downtown east side.
