On Wednesday, January 27, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., the Sûreté du Québec police officers from the MRC Pontiac station, in collaboration with the Quebec Road Control, carried out an operation related to the traffic of semi-trailer trucks, on route 301 in Otter Lake, following several reports from citizens concerning a traffic problem in the school sector.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec issued 2 tickets for speeding violations and one for non-functional headlights on heavy vehicles. A report was issued to a driver of a vehicle for not having properly cleared his vehicle of snow. A driver also received a mechanical inspection notice and 8 others received inspection notices for minor issues. The operation mobilized two traffic controllers and three police officers from the Sûreté du Québec. Further road safety operations are planned with various partners over the coming weeks.
