In the most recent update with the Director General of the Western Quebec School Board (WQSB), Mike Dubeau, he spoke about the new health and safety measures that are brought on with the second confinement in Quebec. Mike Dubeau mentionned that elementary school students must now wear masks in school, in high schools, two procedural masks will be given to students per day and free tutoring and additional mental health services for students will also be made available in the coming weeks.

Dubeau also said that students from grade 9 to 11, or secondary 3 to 5, in the Pontiac will be going to school on alternate days. Meaning some days of in person classes at school and some days of online learning.

Finally, Mike Dubeau addressed the priorities for the WQSB in 2021. While making reference to their Commitement to Success plan found on their website, he noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed many things, but their first priority is to ensure quality education for their students.
