Lennox and Addington County will now have 5G mobile services available in the area. The Eastern Ontario Regional Network's (EORN) announcement this week, along with the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and Rogers Communications, marks the service now being available in some rural areas of Ontario.

The announcement is part of EORN's $300 million cell gap project. Nearly half of the funding for the project comes from the federal and provincial governments, as well as municipal members of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EOWC.) Rogers was selected through a competitive bidding process and will be providing the balance of the investment.

The EORN Cell Gap project will see more than 300 existing towers upgraded and 300 new towers built by Rogers across a 50,000-square-kilometre area, including Lennox and Addington County.

Rogers 5G mobile services are now available for the first time for residents in parts of the following areas:

  • County of Renfrew
  • County of Northumberland
  • County of Lennox and Addington
  • County of Haliburton
  • County of Frontenac
  • County of Peterborough
  • County of Hastings
