Singer songwriter William Prince is touring the country and heading to Brandford next week to perform.
With Remembrance Day so close, CKRZ asked William about his relative and Indigenous war hero Tommy Prince in an interview on the road.
Tommy Prince was one of Canada's most decorated First Nations soldiers serving in WWII and the Korean War.
In addition, he was part of the First Special Service Force or Devil's Brigade during World War II that later became a Hollywood film in 1968.
But William says he is saddened that his third cousin Tommy "died poor and suffering from alcoholism" after his years serving.
William is from Peguis First Nation Treaty 1 territory in Manitoba. He will be performing at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford, Ontario on Nov. 23.
