Earlier this week, a portable planetarium courtesy of McMaster University made a visit to the Six Nations Territory for three sold out presentations.

On Oct. 5, two videos, one narrated in English with Mohawk, and the other in English with Cayuga wording, accompanied the astronomical night sky presentation as they shared a brief historical introduction of Sky World and the Haudenosaunee story of Celestial Bear that explains the constellation known as the Big Dipper.

Dr. Robert Cockcroft, an assistant professor and director of the Williams J McCallian Planetarium at McMaster University, spoke with CKRZ about the portable planetarium.

Jill Rogers, research assistant with McMasters Indigenous Student Services, shared more about how the Gathering Place is being used as a pop up study hall for students.
