CICK News hosts a series called The Scrum where we speak to other journalists in northern BC about their work, favourite stories, moments of growth, and the importance of local journalism.
In the most recent episode of The Scrum, we are talking to our closest LJI neighbour in Terrace, CFNR’s newest journalist: Morgyn Budden.
"CFNR has a station in Terrace, so I've got my news room [to work in]. Before this, I was in a Power Engineering Readiness Course that LNG was sponsoring, and I was doing that to try something new and before that, I was roofing. So, I've never had an office job before."
Listen to this episode of The Scrum to hear about Morgyn's experience working in a newsroom, her favourite stories, and what she's learned about why good stories matter.
Keep listening after Morgyn's interview to hear a sampling of her work as a journalist. She is working with CFNR hosts Kelly Kenny on a segment called Journeys, but her segment is called The Journey Continues. In this segment she covered the repatriation of a Nisga'a Memorial Pole (see featured photo on this article).
