The Town of Sackville is making steps towards installing a second EV charger in town, this time downtown in the parking lot between Goya's Pizza and the post office.
The charger and the electrical infrastructure to make it work will cost about $160,000, but, if all goes well, Sackville's Climate Bhange Coordinator Kirsty Mrazek is hoping that the town will need to cough up just $54,000 to make it happen.
Her work on the EV charger project is one reason that Climate Change Advisory Committee Chair Richard Elliot is pushing to have Mrazek's position made permanent in the new town of Tantramar. A number of councillors are vocally in favour of that move, with one on record against.
