As Tantramar residents go to the polls today, there's one candidate who isn't worried the results. Greg Martin is actually the first councillor to win a seat on the new Tantramar town council. After being the lone candidate to step up in Ward 5, Martin was acclaimed to a seat on the council.

Ward 5 is a large, mostly rural ward that stretches from the Tantramar River over to the Missiguash, which forms the border with Nova Scotia, and then northward towards Baie Verte and Port Elgin, which are now part of the new municipality of Strait Shores. The ward includes Jolicure, Point de Bute, Aulac, and Mount Whatley, where CHMA met Martin one day last week.
