Ann Marie Hak is busy preparing for her seven course class schedule at the British Columbia Institute of Technology where she will be studying marketing in hopes to one day work for Netflix.

Her ambition is to tell stories that strike a chord and help those stories find the audience they are intended for.

She's currently helping to produce a podcast called The Night Spring, a fictional podcast in a similar vein to Welcome to Nightvale about a fictional town filled with ghouls and other-worldly creatures.

Her latest endeavour is a short film that she is both producing and wrote the script. This script won her the 2020 CineSpark Screenplay competition which was the impetus to make it into a film.

Wishing Fall is slated to release in theatres in Victoria in May of 2022 (or online if COVID-19 changes those plans).

The film tells the story of a stepson and stepfather on a camping trip in a fictional place called Wishing Fall where Graham, the Newfie stepfather tries to bond with his future stepson Emil who is grieving the loss of his biological father by teaching him to camp and fly fish.

Ann Marie is the Executive Producer and writer of this film.

Raised on the Wet'suwet'en territory of Houston BC by a Czechoslovakian father and Filipino mother, Ann Marie explores her ethnicity and what it means to be first generation Canadian through her writing and especially in this script.
