As the Fraser Valley continues to recovers from November's flooding disaster, more costs may be on the horizon for Abbotsford.

Henry Braun, mayor of Abbotsford, told CIVL that property taxes will likely need to be raised in Abbotsford. While the Province of British Columbia covered most costs related to the response and recovery from the Fraser River flooding, it can’t cover the entire cost. As a result, the City of Abbotsford needs to attain money to pay off what it needed to during times of distress and disaster. One of the most feasible options is to raise property taxes for citizens of Abbotsford.
