Wellness organization hosting drum circles in West Kootenays for first time

Rhythm by Nature, a Columbia Valley Based wellness organization is traveling throughout the Columbia Basin as part of their community drumming tour. This week there are stops in Creston, Castlegar and Nelson for the first time.

According to their website, Rhythm by Nature, formerly known as Columbia Valley Drumming, offers programs and events that promote wellness, social development and creativity.

Patrick Carrick, founder and drum circle facilitator has been hosting drumming circles and workshops in the Columbia Valley for the past seven years. This will be his first time expanding into the West Kootenays.

"There is a connective power to drumming, especially when we do it as a group and a community," Carrick says.

Drum circles will be hosted in Creston on Nov. 22, Castlegar on Nov. 23 and Nelson on Nov. 24.
