A free weekly support group for people dealing with grief is set to get underway in Campbell's Bay later this month.

Ali-John Chaudhary, a psychotherapist who is spearheading the meetings explained that they are for anyone experiencing the loss of a loved one, or for people looking to help someone dealing with grief. Though the group is meeting at local men's shelter AutonHomme Pontiac, both men and women are welcome to join.

Chaudhary explained that the advantage of a group session is that it provides a safe space for people to work through difficult situations, while also allowing them to support others going through similar experiences.

Chaudhary said that once this group finished up in the fall, he was considering groups for people suffering losses more generally, such as estrangement from a family member.

The support group will take place weekly on Mondays at AutonHomme Pontiac's office in Campbell's Bay (128 rue Front), from 7 - 8 p.m. starting September 18 and running until November 13. For more information contact Kim Laroche at 343-369-2346 or klaroche@autonhommepontiac.ca.
