B.C. Association of People on Opiate Maintenance Vice-President Reija Jean and President Laura Shaver, talk about Saturday's drug user march, We Speak Their Names, We March With Rage!.
"The war on the poor and the war on drugs are killing people in our communities at an alarming rate - not only the record high overdose rates, but in all the grinding ways poverty, colonization, police violence, and hateful stigma attack poor people who use drugs everyday."
The memorial march will take place Saturday, Aug.15, at noon and start at the corner of Main and Hastings.
