Election Day on November 4th was a beautiful day to vote on Six Nations. Saturday was voting day for the 2023 Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Band Council (SNEC) elections.
The voting took place at the Community Hall and the final announcements of the successful candidates began at 7:00 pm EST.
The voting was an in person process only with no option for online voting. The process started by voters entering the doors of the Community Hall than taking a left coming to the front desk where they were given instructions of how to vote and were given a voting package. Within the voting package was a ballot with 14 check boxes in total --  2 for the candidates running for chief, and the remaining 12 check boxes for the candidates running for council.
This year there were only 2 candidates running for chief and 13 candidates running for council. That means only one candidate was unsuccessful as chief, and one only one candidate was unsuccessful in running for council.
The follow is a list of the outcome of the voting for the 2023 SNEC elections.
