BC Hydro anticipates a strong increase in energy demand in the northwest: 3 billion dollars is being set aside for future infrastructure projects. Canadian filmmaker Amanda Dawn Christie documents the history and demise of Radio Canada International’s broadcast and short-wave antennas in Sackville, New Brunswick, in “Spectres of Shortwave.” A BC resident has been missing for weeks. Family and friends launch a Facebook page for people who might have seen him. And two conservation organizations, the Appalachian Corridor and Conservation des Vallons de la Serpentine have succeeded in protecting 84 acres of Québec’s Millington Bog.
